John McLoughlin is a fully qualified and accredited UK-based Consultant Urological Surgeon who works out of East Anglia. He qualified from St Mary’s Hospital, London in 1983 and subsequently trained in general surgery, renal transplantation and urology in London and Bristol, finally becoming a consultant in 1994.
He has been performing vasectomy reversal as a consultant for 29 years and has maintained an enduring passion for this most delicate of operations. His technique has evolved over many years of practice and he constantly strives for surgical excellence. He has travelled widely to observe other colleague’s practice and refine surgical techniques.
He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and was a long term member of the British Association of Urological Surgeons and member of Mensa.
Over the years, he has served as MRCS examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh), regional training program director for urological training (East Anglia), was as an undergraduate examiner for both Cambridge and London Universities, acted as college rep for the Royal College of Surgeons (England) and has worked for national bodies such as NICE. He continues as an Urology Advisor the UK Health Service Ombudsman.
